Resurrectionist Winter: One Month In - A Cozy Check-in
As we step into another frosty month of Resurrectionist Winter, I’ve been spending time reflecting on what this gentle, love pressure make along had already brought into my creative life. The heart of this season is simple: revive what’s been resting, honor what still sparks joy, and release what no longer serves us. And Honestly? It’s been a wonderfully grounding start.
What I’ve Brought Back to Life
This month, I worked through three full skeins of deep stash yarn, each one transforming into a finished pair of socks. Three pairs! Three victories! There’s something so satisfying about using materials that have been patiently waiting for their moment.
I also made a big decision: I frogged an entire sweater project that I just wasn’t feeling connected to anymore. Instead of forcing myself to finish something that didn’t bring me joy, I gave myself permission to unravel it and reclaim that yarn for future sparks of inspiration. Sometimes our projects need to be reincarnated into something new.
And while this wasn’t a stash driven project, I was able to use the gorgeous skien I picked up at The New England Fiber Festival to complete Joji’s One Love Mystery Knit Along. That was one of my November goals, and I’m thrilled to say it’s officially finished and off the needles!
Crafts, Quilting, and Creative Curiosity
Now, as for the winter craft projects I bought materials for last year… have I completed any of them yet? No. But that’s okay! The beauty of Resurrectionist Winter is that it’s not a race. There’s still so much time left in the year, and those projects will be waiting for me whenever I’m ready to pick them back up.
I did, however, add a new project to my mindful purchase list: the fabric I purchased in my recent Day in the Life vlog. I originally planned to turn the blocks into ornaments… but once I started sewing, I fell in love. I stitched all the tiny blocks together into a tiny festive quilt, now I’m deciding whether to display it - or give it to my Velcro Baby kitten as her December nap spot. Knowing her, she’ll choose before I do.
